The Reasons the
Association Exists
Following a great deal of discussion with a considerable number of model
aviators across Kent & Sussex during the past two years it has left us
with no misconception that some alternatives had to be considered to
ensure a
continuance
of our unique hobby activities. We collected a wide spectrum of
opinion and in conclusion most opinion indicated there was an ever
increasing erosion of our hobby environment. Further investigation
also indicated that regardless of the amount of effort put in the
continued trend still remained in respect of the loss of flying sites
and indeed it was noticed that general club based memberships in the
area were and
still are falling away at a dramatic rate. We are certain that the
action we have undertaken to initiate a new and united association is
indeed in the best interest of all local modellers.
Ashford Frontier Radio Control Association has
been established only by the wishes of local model
enthusiasts who have a desire to continue their hobby with
continuity, confidence and safety. The Association
will foremost undertake to conduct
its business
by providing a safe flying environment, to conduct hobby
activities and maintain a site in the best interest of its
contributing associates.

Unlike most clubs the organisation is
structured a little differently in as much that it is a
private enterprise managed and
sponsored as a Mutual Association by the
two founders who will also be the associations coordinators
(acting under advisement). The Association will operate
under the title of 'The Ashford Frontier R/C Association'
and all administration and maintenance processes will be
conducted by 'Kalm Services
(UK) Ltd'.
